Par for the course, Jon.

Is it just my imagination or does "summer" always take a while to get
going of late?

I know that during the 90's, June's weather was often poor, in my
recollection only June 1996 was anything like decent!

And even during the famous spring/summer of 1990, June was
poor. I recall it being rather wet and although it was anticyclonic
for a time as well I seem to remember it being a cloudy high for
days on end, somewhat strange that the sun at the very height
of it's powers couldn't shift the cloud.

June 1996 sticks in my mind too, as did a certain 3 Lions song.
Perhaps an omen.. (but necessarily in terms of weather !)

June '75 had snow in Buxton, so bad weather is nothing new

(Yes I know what happened over the next 18 months, and I'm NOT going to say
it!!)
