Weatherspares.co.uk are currently selling the pre-2006 analogue T/H sensors for £65. They say the stock is very limited and when they're gone they're gone. ================================================== ============ That's fine for a pre-2006 VP2 and IIRC a VP1, but the WMII T/H sensor assembly is a different item again I'm afraid. TBH I've never really looked in detail, but it may be that the actual 2-pin humidity sensor element from a VP1 board might fit in a WMII assembly. But even if that's the case there's no guarantee that it will restore correct readings. On a WMII, there's no obvious reason why the OAT shouldn't continue to work OK even if the RH is faulty. But I'm guessing that the WMII is now some 12-15 years old and there comes a point where station renewal is the only real option. |

"Norman Lynagh" wrote in message ... I solved the problem by replacing the temp/RH sensor with one of the new 'enhanced' sensors which are supposedly more accurate. It has all been working fine since then. If anyone wants more detail on the digital T/H sensors in the Davis VP2 and Vue stations then a detailed description is included in the following topic on the Davis knowledgebase that we maintain: http://www.manula.com/manuals/pws/da...e-humidity-gen eral NB1 This isn't really intended as light reading but the details are there if you need them! That's an interesting article, John. I hadn't realised it was all so complicated. I recently bought the 7346.174 version to replace my faulty one. I'm very happy with the replacement. Fitting it was no great problem though it is useful to have a second person to hold the 'pile of plates' when the temperature screen is dismantled. I also took the opportunity to give the whole thing a good clean. -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. http://peakdistrictweather.org @TideswellWeathr |

It's on it's way out, but overnight it dropped to 95% but now back to 100% and looking the radar will stay 100% until the morning... -- Keith (Southend) "Weather Home & Abroad" http://www.southendweather.net Twitter:@SS9Weatherman |

Houston, I think we have a problem! I can't beleive the humidity is still 100% outside, but it's been stuck on it since yesterday evening. Any ideas/solutions? Humidity here has been = 98% for the last 5 days. Maybe it's right? It's not stuck it's jsut acting dawlish for the duration of the spell. there is a twin cored High in the middle of the North Atlantic so it is only fair that you feel a little miffed. Just take note of what happens next and realise that your machine was trying to tell you something: "Look Keith, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over." or "I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do." |
