Davis humidity stuck at 100%
Houston, I think we have a problem!
I can't beleive the humidity is still 100% outside, but it's been stuck on it since yesterday evening. Any ideas/solutions? -- Keith (Southend) "Weather Home & Abroad" http://www.southendweather.net Twitter:@SS9Weatherman |

I had the opposite problem a few weeks ago. Over a period of a few days the RH on my Vantage Pro 2 gradually drifted down to less than 5%. I solved the problem by replacing the temp/RH sensor with one of the new 'enhanced' sensors which are supposedly more accurate. It has all been working fine since then. I'm not really sure what caused the problem but it developed shortly after a spell of wet weather with very strong winds. It's possible that water getting to the sensor was the problem but I'm only guessing. -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. http://peakdistrictweather.org @TideswellWeathr |

MMmm, could do with the the sun coming out and a good drying wind as I get the feeling dampness has got into the old WMII sensor. I feel like taking the wife's hair dryer out there, um, better not thinking about it... -- Keith (Southend) "Weather Home & Abroad" http://www.southendweather.net Twitter:@SS9Weatherman |

If it has, I'm afraid that spares are no longer available, as I discovered when mine suffered a similar fate. -- Alan White Mozilla Firefox and Forte Agent. I solved the problem by replacing the temp/RH sensor with one of the new 'enhanced' sensors which are supposedly more accurate. It has all been working fine since then. If anyone wants more detail on the *digital* T/H sensors in the Davis VP2 and Vue stations then a detailed description is included in the following topic on the Davis knowledgebase that we maintain: http://www.manula.com/manuals/pws/da...midity-general NB1 This isn't really intended as light reading but the details are there if you need them! NB2 All pre-2006 Davis stations (ie WMII / VP1 / early VP2 models) used an *analogue* T/H assembly which, sad to say, is no longer available from Davis. Supplies were maintained well beyond the 5-year period which is Davis policy for the continued availability of spares after the end of production of particular models, but that stockpile is now totally exhausted. Occasionally spares may turn up eg on eBay and similar sites. John Dann www.weatherstations.co.uk |
