Partly cloudy with sunny intervals late Thursday afternoon. Clear periods during the early evening, then becoming cloudy again. Light winds overnight - initially southwesterly, then backing southeasterly. A few slight rain showers late Thursday afternoon. Dry evening and first part of the night. Rain started around 0100z, slight at first but became persistent and heavy by 0230z, peaking at 26 mm/hr at 0450z. Precipitation has been rain and drizzle since then, mainly moderate but with short heavy periods. There has been 25.6 mm in the past five hours. Currently there is heavy rain and drizzle, poor visibility and a light southeasterly breeze.

Heavy rain persisted until just after 1100z with a peak rate of 28 mm/hr at 1030z. Since 1100z it has been mainly slight but still continuous. Event total now stands at 72.4 mm. Surface wind has picked up a bit to F3-4. Low stratus has lifted off the hilltops and the visibility has improved.

Slight rain and/or drizzle since 1200z, with only a few brief moderate bursts. Event total has not increased by much and now stands at 73 mm. It has continued to rain heavily just to the north where the ground is higher, and there has probably been about 100 mm in that area. Very mild F3 southerly breeze, and fairly good visibility. Highest temperature so far today is 17.1 (1457z).
