The cloud forecasts have been very pessimistic for the last 2 days. Once again we were told you'd have to head to east Devon & shelter to get sunshine, cloudy & occasionally damp in the west.

In practice, today the reverse has been the case, particularly sunny out on Scilly.

In Penzance sunny intervals this morning prolonged sunshine this afternoon, a bit blustery at times though. Temperatures are nudging back up, maximum of 21.5C.

Penzance has done particularly well, with the moist air descending into the Bay from behind Newlyn, but even up on the moors plenty of sunshine since mid morning, already already well 7 hours.
