[WR] Ystrad, Rhondda - Heavy showers
Or perhaps I should say violent, as the rainfall rate at 1024z was 245 mm/hr. Currently in a lull with some sunshine, but looking on the radar there's more on the way.

There are bright echoes on the rainfall radar passing right overhead as I write but nothing lands. Given the dark orange colours you would think it would be pouring down but everything dry. No rain since the 21st. Unusually windy with gusts over 30 mph. The holiday-makers' tents will be getting a battering. More of the same this afternoon, with 14 mm between 1230z and 1330z, together with 6 mm hail and a fair bit of thunder and lightning. Daily total now at 18.6 mm, and monthly total now 33.0 mm.
