Or perhaps I should say violent, as the rainfall rate at 1024z was 245 mm/hr. Currently in a lull with some sunshine, but looking on the radar there's more on the way.

There are bright echoes on the rainfall radar passing right overhead as I write but nothing lands. Given the dark orange colours you would think it would be pouring down but everything dry. No rain since the 21st. Unusually windy with gusts over 30 mph. The holiday-makers' tents will be getting a battering. Typical after weeks and weeks of hardly any wind at all. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalleyweather.me.uk |

Blustery here and a big swell now with plenty in the sea https://www.atlanticcottageholidays....m-sennen-cove/ Must be getting close to red flagging the beach. We missed the rain when you had some, not so this time. Total rainfall since this time yesterday around 18mm - in a few torrential bursts. Graham Penzance |
