Default Davis humidity stuck at 100%

Houston, I think we have a problem!

I can't beleive the humidity is still 100% outside, but it's been stuck
on it since yesterday evening. Any ideas/solutions?

It's not stuck it's jsut acting dawlish for the duration of the spell. there is a twin cored High in the middle of the North Atlantic so it is only fair that you feel a little miffed.

Just take note of what happens next and realise that your machine was trying to tell you something:

"Look Keith, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over." or "I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do."

I've just picked up a fault in the AE35 unit. It's going to go 100% failure in 72 hours.

Also never opened up the white box part inside the enclosure, is it a
soldering job changing this sensor?

The temperature sensor will continue to work and, from memory, it's
relatively easy to modify the software to eliminate the humidity
readings and displays - I think.

It's on it's way out, but overnight it dropped to 95% but now back to
100% and looking the radar will stay 100% until the morning...

96%. As the song goes, 'I wasn't expecting that' :-)

I think it's on it's last legs, maybe a dry wind may sort it out for a
while, but I think it's days are numbered. Perhaps the 7 days of fog in
December has everstretched it.

Keith, I had a WM2 humidity sensor which did the same under the same
circumstances (and same time of year for that matter). The reading was
100% just occasionally coming down to 95% for a short time before back
to 100%. John Dann told me to send it to McMurdo (Davis agents) who said
they would repair it for free 'if they still had a spare part in the
shed'. Part found, repaired and back to me next day. However that was
8-10 years ago. You might just find a WM2 unit being sold on ebay but
nothing at present.

George, from what I can gather it is unlikely I will be able to get a
replacement part.

It seems to be comparable to other local site on WOW this morning, with
some locations higher and others lower for humidity/dew point. I was
expecting a minus dew point today, but no one else has one around here
either, so perhaps it has dried out a bit now?

Still thinking about updating this year all the same.
