Now if it were a red one ("Take Action") you might've been justified in keeping them in ;-) -- Freddie Castle Pulverbatch Shropshire 221m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ http://twitter.com/PulverbatchWx for hourly reports |

Still, weatherwise a good weekend on the way for most. Graham Penzance |

Looks pretty heavy on the radar echoes. DAve, S.Essex Just started here at 1.04pm - though was a small pulse of rain about 40 minutes ago. Wasn't expecting it until 4ish - but managed to get my painting done and dry this morn Boughton-under-Blean north Kent coast. Moderate rain started at 1155 gmt. Just 1.1 mm here much less than I thought going by all the warnings and hype and the timing for the 'event' from the BBC this morning was diabolical to say the least. Now a pleasant afternoon with glimpses of sun and a light south easterly ! Rob Shoreham --------------------------------- Something is drastically amiss with the weather - it certainly isn't doing as it's told by the models! Worked in my favour today as the forecast yesterday was for heavy rain all afternoon in London with strong winds. I carried on with my anniversary river trip and it was dry, bright and totally calm on the upper deck of the boat on the Thames!! In fact didn't spillany tea on my scones ;-) Dave |

Looks like its easing up a bit so I may risk going out in the car. But those poor people who got hit by stray drops ,my heart goes out to them and I speak for all of us when I say our thoughts and brollies are with them. How much more AGW extreme weather battering can poor old blighty take? Apparently Alan Rusbridgers toupée got a bit damp outside Guardian Towers earlier. Expect more old AGW ******** in tomorrows edition |

We got 26.5 mm here in about 3 hours this morning so that is serious rain in my book. And we had a few crashes of nearby thunder which scared the sh.. out of me. Now, have you looked at the latest radar? More heavy rain on the way which might score a bullseye on London, but then you might all be tucked up in your beds by then so it will not have a consequence on your exciting lives. London (East) only got 2.5mm all day and I think the fat lady has sung now. Dave |
