Look at NOAA 'FORECAST' then maps...quakes follow the passage of pulses from polar region to Gulf of Mexico

I'm expecting a lage 5 or small 6 for today.
There is a large cyclone developing in the North Atlantic. If it's
with a new storm in the tropics (an mid-ocean heat island effect)
there will be more than a small 6 to signal it.

But it just looks like it is Gary developing into a Cat 2 or 3.
No idea what sizes will be involved with that.

So that was the big deal with tropical storms.

So I suppose there must have been something going on here?

Nothing tornadic in the USA though.
27 days of charts on the site I was using in case anyone wants to
bother checking on me. (Back to the 5th of January at the time of
writing.)

I wonder if I had been paying attention to the NorthAtlantic charts I
would have caught those tornadoes coming.

Normal service will be reusmed as soon as possible:
As stated (in another thread on uk.sci.weather) the production of
triple or at least multiple Low systems tends to go on to intrusive
Highs as is the case with events on t+36 Saturady (the weather
(occluded fronts) breaking from midnight tonight.)

According to the BOM southern hemisphere run the Madagascar storm will
become extratropical on Wednesday and run into a previous flux of
precipitation around 80 degrees east reducing the laminar flow around
Antarctica temporarily.

That should be a largish quake but Wednesday is a long way off. And
noon Thursaday when it goes bang, a lot further.

Lots of luck for those who are going to need it.

Meanwhile the small stuff will be interesting for the west of Europe.
More going on the the Reykjanes Ridge region on t+60 I think:

I don't know what is going to happen in the next few days. A very deep
Low on the N American east coast looks like displacing the Greenlanf
High.
When it does, the not so deep Low in the Alaskan Gulf will deepen. All
the while they are separated by a flaccid High.

Nothing really low runs betyween the Highs in the North Atlantic.
But we are experiencing a dearth of medium sized quakes since Sunday
night.

Wednesday looks interesting with a series of quakes kicking off the
next tropical storm. (That will be posted on Midnight Thursday at the
latest I imagine.)

There is nothing on the JTWC pages but the death of Felleng. -so you
herd heard hear first (a gain.)

Evidently the absence of tropical storms ( which I forecast correctly)
indicates an increase in medium sized quakes. (Not forecast but I saw
something was odd.)

Wednesday looks interesting with a series of quakes kicking off the
next tropical storm. (That will be posted on Midnight Thursday at the
latest I imagine.)

should be even more revealing.)

Three Lows on he

(Just!)
Not deep ones this time. But Santa Cruz is in the Fijian Triangle. So
almost anything can happen with such a sequence.

Multiple parallel fronts on the North Atlantic Charts virtually
continuously from this afternoon at the time of writin (7 February
2013.) These end with a thundering bump on T+60 and by T+72 becom twin
divergent Lows off Greenland once mre leading to a mid Atlntic High.

(So more cold easterlies, RonB please note. Tie your granny to her
mattress this time. Ignoe the smell of vitamin B and Vicks. You'll
feel a lot better about it.)

This is a bad spell that will end on the 10th. A new spell similar to
this one but with a tropical storm in the southern Indian Ocean -about
90 degrees east, will occur by Monday.

This should ease things a little.
There is still a lot of potential for convergence here until the 11th:

Be careful.

Nothing really low runs betyween the Highs in the North Atlantic.
But we are experiencing a dearth of medium sized quakes since Sunday
night.

Any more interesting than a Magnitude 8 is downright nasty.
Now I regret not looking at any charts yesterday. But I suppose you
can't really acll any of this a dearth:

How odd was this on the 4th (forecasting the 5th)

http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/ensem.../cartes_e.html

I have just been looking at the storm dates I said I had forecast
correctly:

Wednesday looks interesting with a series of quakes kicking off the
next tropical storm. (That will be posted on Midnight Thursday at the
latest I imagine.)

That reads like I forecat a Tropical stom fot Thursday the 7th of
February.
I am pretty certain I saw quite clearly that there would be no storms
until this weekend. Felleng died on Sunday 3 Febb 2013 I have no idea
what I was thinking.

I didn't expect a storm until this weekend maybe not a full blown stom
until Sunday the 10th. I was pleased with myself prediicting my first
storm some few days ahead of the JTWC.

I was even pleased wityh the mist hanging around here first thing.

Spoiled it somewhat to find what |I actually wrote was far short of
anything useful. Some good stuff to ponder though
Signals fot anything in excess of a mag 7.8 or so quake don't give the
same signals as those for a quake in the region of 6.9 to 7.7.

Me4anwhile the development over Canada seems to be telling of another
largwe magnitude quake:

Look at the forecast fot the 12th.
4 Lows. Not very deep ones but the arc of the three from the Gulf of
Alaska to the Great Lakes begs for an earthquake prdiction somewhere
80 to the SW of it.

THe arc made by the first two and the other Low south of Greenland
begs a forecast epicentre over the North Pole again I'd plump for 80
degrees down the meridian over the top from the Mississippi. That's
back in Fifian Triangle waters. So more from Santa Cruz Islands?

In this new spell?
Not likely.
I'd have to make it an each way bet.
We can't possibly have another major upset there can we?

But it works for the Japanese.
Look at all that stuff they had for months before the big one.

I like the way all those little low pressures are dancing around Antarctica.

They are obviously enacting some ancient druid ritual, but who is controlling them?

Olympic controversy
The group were contacted by the International Olympic Committee in August 2016 over their 2008 song "The Beer Olympics". The IOC claimed trademark rights over the word Olympics stating that Hotpots’ use of the word was a breach of their trademark.[17] To avoid further problems, the band subsequently retitled the song "The Beer International Non-Profit, Non-Governmental Sporting Quad Yearly Event".[18]
