Default Calais: 100mph winds

Just heard this on BBC London radio - can anyone confirm this? The
port is closed apparently.

Hard to believe. Windy - yes. Ostende max showed 31 mph on XC weather.
Sandettie light vessel 45 mph.

From the obs I've seen maximum gusts look to have been in the 50-60KT range
along the coastal fringes, e.g 52KT at Manston at 1320Z, EGMH 151320Z
20038G52KT 4000 RA BKN008 10/09 Q0981
with 56KT reported on the 12Z Synop.

Jon.

Sandettie LV 62304 reported a wind of 81 kt at 1000, but looks wrong
compared with the obs either side.
