Bernardo writes That might have been better than the Geography field trip i went on to the Peak District (Edale) this year. Over the week i was there, we had nearly 20cms of snow (you try looking for podsols in that!), no joke. We went during the recent cold snap. Going off topic now, so sorry to all non-geographers on uk.sci.weather! Mike, I didn't know you were a geography teacher - where do you teach? As for podsols, do you know of a site in the Midlands where you can study a brown earth and a podsol profile in close proximity? Would be useful to take our A2 students before their AQA core module exam in June. Just wondered. Incidentally, sand dunes in driving rain is not fun either! cheers -- Steve Jackson Bablake Weather Station Coventry www.nelink.co.uk/users/bws |
