![]() From 9/5/04-8/10/04 every day exceeded 15 degrees. That's 152 consecutive days. A new record for Penzance. Can anybody beat this? Today we will be lucky to reach 14. It's bleak, but the real rain has remained just to the south. I've just turned on the heating for the first time. Graham Penzance |

Hi Graham
If I ignore the 8th of July when a max of 14.9C was attained (this was a record 'cold' max for me, quite exceptional), then I have to go back to the 27th of April (14.1C) to find a day max that was less then 15.0C. That equals so far, 170 consecutive days of temperatures exceeding 15.0C. Today was a pleasant 16.1C here and sunny. _______________________________ Nick Worcester 45 AMSL "Graham Easterling" wrote in message ... From 9/5/04-8/10/04 every day exceeded 15 degrees. Up here in Highland Perthshire we had 27 days below that mark during the
period, can anyone beat that? BTW - great prog about the Faroes last night - hope everyone saw that? brian aberfeldy "Graham Easterling" wrote in message ... Yep, OT but interesting prog.
Bit too much harping on through rose coloured spectacles (if that possible!) about how well they live with their environment for my taste. I wonder what the Faroese population density is, or that of their total land and sea area? I wonder if UK's human 'ecological footprint' would be less damaging if our population density was as low? Case of an apples and oranges comparison perhaps. They're a funny bunch shepherds, but the ones last night were, without doubt, the maddest shepherds I've ever seen :O Peter Dartmoor It's cold wet and horrid down here this morning. Nothing like 152 days here. "Brian Blair" wrote in message ... Up here in Highland Perthshire we had 27 days below that mark during the period, can anyone beat that? Hi, Brian, 41 days below 15C max in that period, but we don't go for high max temp records here! We did have 4 night mins above 15C though, all in August. Annual average 1.8 days, so phew to all of you! April 3rd, 2004 gave a maximum temperature of +14.2C; the following months failed to give any temperature maxima below the 15C threshold. But then again this is Athens, I should be posting from the northern plains of the country or the northwest: I'd already have reported an air frost ![]() Yannis, SE Athens +20.2C, RH 71%, SLP 1017.3 hPa http://www.e-kairos.com |
