Default Davis Weather Monitor II - cabling from jcn box to console

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with some advice regarding the
resiting of a WMII console.

We will be moving the console to another building, while keeping the
sensors and junction box in the same location. I've noticed that the
cable from the junction box to the console is a flat 8-core cable
terminated with an RJ45 jack at each end.

This indicates to me that a cable constructed using Cat5E twised pair
would work just as well.

I was wondering whether anyone here had tried this and achieved success,
or whether we must reopen the departmental pursestrings to buy the
appropriate extension.

Thanks.

Andrew
