The Atlantic seems very busy atm with two new storms inc Danielle
which is the first this season to form so far east. It has a long way to go over water which could provide a lot of energy. All this while charlie has become a Cat 5. |

I thought Charlie only made a Cat 4 at it's peak, it's a lot less now
that it's running up the east coast of the USA. After decoding todays synops for the USA I was expecting much higher rainfall totals. The highest 24 hour total upto 12:00 noon gmt was Jacksonville with 59.4mm. Orlando had 46.2mm and Tampa only 12.2mm. Have I missed something? Orlando http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/KMCO.html 1.82 inches Pressure fall of 26 hPa in 2 hours from 23z to 01z and rise of 24 hPa in 2 hours from 01z to 03z.
