Hallo all.
One more hint on last week's cold front from a distant low over the northern Balkans; it caused temperatures to drop more significantly than I thought after all, as Kato Nevrokopi reported -2C on Friday morning. That value should be close to a record for low lying areas of the country in May -let alone the second half of the month. Temperatures have cought up with the normal values for the time period ever since. S. Athens made it to +27C today, while the isles have started being cooler than the mainland, which is, itself, a sign of the onset of summer: Mykonos didn't exceed +18C. Sunday should see some thermal thunderstorms over continental Greece again. It has been a relatively cool May overall with no temperature readings in Athens in the 30s at all.
