Wonder what sort of convection we're likely to get in S/SE England today ?
Larkhill launched a sonde this morning- http://weather.uwyo.edu/cgi-bin/soun...M=2706&TO=2706 with light northerly winds at the surface and a sea breeze developing with insolation on southern coasts are some quasistationary storms possible in places with favourable orography? (Rather like Julian Mayes's idea re the Sevenoaks'56 storm ) Overall the GFS expects the showers to move SE during the afternoon ,is a squall line possible or is the surface too dry to supply the CAPE? Warm and hazy under thin Ci overcast in SE London this morning, -- regards, david (add 17 to waghorne to reply) |
