Default Convection

After a gloriously sunny morning plenty of cumulus cloud here
making it pretty cloudy. This is the first time this year I've noted
proper convection.

Roll on spring!

All the more ironic for having occurred in a winter High. There is
slightly convective stuff here as well, but a lot of medium cloud as well and
it's generally murky with light rain earlier. One would never guess the
synoptic situation just by looking out of the window, but of course the
barometer helps.

Yesterday in Penzance it was gloriously sunny, and the temperature rose to
13.4 making it the second warmest day of the month here. Warm enough for sea
breezes, giving a typical 'summer' line of cumulus along the convergence
zone down the spine of the peninsula, and prolonged sunshine right on the
coast. The first time that's happened this year.

Only 10C at the airport, but it felt positively spring like here in the sun
earlier.

Looks like another week of fun and games with fog and frost before, perhaps,
another cold plunge from the north next weekend.
