It all started with the invisible friend. The game where you pretend someone is
there who isn't. A well developed story would attribute qualities to him/her and of course a name was given. It stopped being a joke when in a time of great stress and loss, it appeared that there was now a need for the invisible frend to exist. Before long a community would speak of this person who went on to adopt mystical powers. Due to the infantile need for an omnipotent "dad" looking out for us in a world full of unanswered questions, it soon became possible for observant individuals to use this empty and mallable aspect of our knowledge, to manipulate people into performing good or indeed bad deeds. The laws of coincidence and chance played well in the hands of the 'chosed few' as seemingly impossible events would happen occasionally, which appeared to confirm the existence of a 'super power'; a lightning strike on an individual for example. "Pray to *** so it doesn't happen to you". In the development of churches we see theatrical men in gowns who may well have been in danger of persecution in society due to the observation that they preferred boys to girls. So here we had the perfect cover. I am 'celibate' "I don't fornicate with women because god doesn't want me to. Ah yes, and don't those choir boys look sweet". What a strange coincidence that women were sometimes not even allowed through the doors of churches, let alone the freedom to become a priest. So here we have a world whose peoples have devised and developed numerous religions for the purposes of control, expoitation and financial gain; some of which has been put to good use as many well intentioned individuals increasingly formed major parts of the orginisations. So where does that leave god fearing people today? Has the whole thing just been an invention of mankind? This is the most likely explanation in my opinion. Am I saying there is no such thing as a god? No..he exists in the minds of many people. Does he actually exist? No of course not....if he's a HE, then he's got a willy and isn't it just sheer vanity for us to have made 'him' in our image. In fact...there may be a supreme power that influenced the creation of the universes and beyond....but we are so far away from knowing what that would be, that millions of people the world over, still fall for the childish 'invisible friend' father replacement theory. If you have a mind.......keep it open. One thing is certain....we're all wrong. Oh......and by the way: continue to treat others in the way you would like to be treated yourself.....or better. Whatever it was that put us on this tiny little insignificant star, one day we may need all the friends we can get, wherever they are in this giant unknown. Make todays enemy....tomorrows friend. Our most valuable asset, is every second that ticks by...don't waste them. Heaven starts the day you want it to. Spread the word of peace; be gentle with the human mind which is fragile and develops uncontrolable rage or inconsolable fear and suffering, when denied the nutrient of love and care in childhood. It is the young growing minds of today which should have the greatest number of laws to protect them, for the decisions they make tomorrow, will undoubtedly have a major influence on the survival of mankind and the world as we know it.
