Default 10 hours of rain, but no thunder

Just thought I'd mention that it's been raining since about midnight and
still hasn't stopped! Pretty heavy too. But not a single rumble of thunder.
Oh well, I should expect this by now really...

According to an earlier BBC forecast the thundery activity was located in the
N Midlands. That rain band is now over N England but I've not heard any of
the rumbly stuff, just having light rain.
There was no thunder at all in your rain band, which now appears to be in the
process of breaking up. If this is the rain that is supposed to move up the
country today it's being pretty slow about it, it's barely moved for hours!

It certainly was, a large thunderstorm moved over Stoke on Trent during

the
early hours, affecting most of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Dave.

Heavy rain in Sheffield this morning, with rumbles of thunder, though I only
saw/heard one lightning strike.

Not sure what happened overnight as I was asleep
