The last three winter months here have produced almost 500mm of
rainfall. February 2020 162.9mm only 1977 recorded more with 171.9mm December 2020 154.4mm only 1979 recorded more with 157.1mm January 2021 164.0mm wettest on record beating 2004 (142.8mm) Wettest winters here since 1960: 1995 348.0mm 2021 320.4mm (so far) 2020 315.2mm 2016 314.3mm The 1981-2010 average was 204.4mm Could easily be a record wet Winter here unless February is very dry, we can only hope ![]() Graham |

Feb 2020 214.4 mm Dec 2020 214.7 mm Jan 2021 144.9 mm Total 574.0 mm Interesting because my record winter (DJF) total is 543.3 mm in 2013-14. For this record to be beaten there needs to be 183.7 mm this Feb. Unlikely when the average for Feb is 88 mm. Len Wembury, SW Devon |

For this record to be beaten there needs to be 183.7 mm this Feb. Unlikely when the average for Feb is 88 mm. Hi Len That's a lot of rainfall! I would always expect rainfall to be much higher in the South West. Almost 500mm in three winter months is very high here, when the Winter average is only 204m. The latest GFS charts seem to suggest high pressure taking hold from next week, so we could be in for a dry February. Graham |
