On this day (well yesterday's data) Arctic and Antarctic sea-ice
extent combined, so whole planet, lower than the previous 2012 record minimum for that day. https://sites.google.com/site/arctischepinguin/home/sea-ice-extent-area/grf/nsidc_global_extent_byyear_b.png Going by Charctic data there is another 170,000 sq km ( in a day or two) to go before the new record. I suspect that above plot uses historic data, as it was in 2012 etc, only daily updates, but the data revisionists at NSIDC have been at work since at Charctic. -- Global sea level rise to 2100 from curve-fitted existing altimetry data http://diverse.4mg.com/slr.htm |
