The SST (measured 1 metre down in 11 metres' depth) in Lyme Bay passed
20C for the first time this year with a maximum this afternoon of 20.6C. The unbroken sunshine, calm sea and warmer nights recently have helped, and with the higher humidity forecast, how high will the temperature go over this weekend, especially Sunday. Some way to go to beat last year's 22.1C during the heatwave on the 19th June but it is possible. A swim in the briny is on order for tomorrow, no wetsuit required methinks. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalleyweather.me.uk |

This must be nearing the SST off the Canary Islands at present. The cold current there seems particularly evident at present. |

Certainly 20C in favoured onshore spots close in. 23C in the Jubilee pool, which is too warm as is starts to affect the water quality. Closing for the day Monday to do a complete water change. Min of 16.1C last night, 21.4C @ 09:00. Graham Penzance |

SST's around the Canary Islands are currently between 21C and 22C,
http://ghrsst-pp.metoffice.com/pages....html?i=32&j=5 but they seem to be about normal for this time of year, http://ghrsst-pp.metoffice.com/pages....html?i=32&j=5 Dick Lovett |

Fair enough comment about the temps. around the Canary Islands. Further south, about on the Tropic of Cancer, it looks to be only 17-18C on the coast. |
