Two out for Christmas this year and a further two in bud. It's clearly an early-flowering clump, in a warm position, but only 7 years ago, we'd never had a daffodil out before New Year. This year, the first one opened on 7th Dec - 3 days after one did last year. I'm looking forward to our first November Daffodil soon!
Anyone else got any out for Christmas? |

The earliest patches near the sea are virtually over. Top Picture @ http://www.turnstone-cottage.co.uk/Daffs.html taken today. The petals are already turning brown. They were around 2 weeks earlier in 2013/13. The bottom picture @ http://www.turnstone-cottage.co.uk/Daffs.html was taken on 6th Jan 2013. The equivalent field is still in bud, and won't by like that until probably late Jan. 1st daffs in flower locally, the big yellow ones as opposed to the Sols (also a type of narcissi which often flower in November), came out around 10th December. No. Just lovely mild, calm weather. Perfect Devon coastal winter conditions; exactly why I moved here! *))

Nor here in sunny Leicester!
But that's nothing, I have seen daffodils in flower in August before now (OK. I was in Australia). Merry Christmas. In message wrote: Two out for Christmas this year and a further two in bud.
