Default Pennines cloud

I went on a coach trip to York today.

On the journey back, between Sheffield and Burton upon Trent, there were
some Ac Cas. Would the Ac Cas be caused by the Pennines?

At York the sun finally broken through at around 1530z, then it went
very hot and very humid quickly. It was like being in Malaysia! LOL.
Yet again another day trip partly spoilt by heat and this time humidity.

Very unpleasant 25c 75% humidity at 2150z. :-(
