Tideswell, Derbyshire - Sunday 28th July 2013
----------------------------------------------------- 0530z W F2-3 15km 7St005 13.4/13.4 1000 RMK: A soggy morning after a night of exceptional rain. We ended up with a total of 89.1 mm for the event, almost all of it falling in 8 hours between 1930z and 0330z. The total for the month to date now stands at 123.2 mm which is 156% of the ELTA for the whole month. So much for the "dry" July! -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. |

So much for the "dry" July! 0900z SW F3-4 15km 6Cu010 16.7/14.9 1002 RMK: Cu developing rapidly. 09-09z: Tx 25.8 (1330z) Tn 13.3 (0655z) RR 89.1 18-09z: Tg 13.0 00-24z: Sun 2.4 1600z S F3 15km -SHRA 1Cb012 3Cu015 6Ci250 1004 RMK: A rather cloudy but bright day. Dry for much of the time but there was a brief torrential shower around 1400z with a max rate of 85 mm/hr between bucket tips. Last night's deluge has left a lot of mud and gravel on roads in the area, and in some places a scattering of pebbles up to tennis ball size. I haven't heard of any flooding in Tideswell but several houses were flooded in Stoney Middleton a few miles away on the A623 Chesterfield Road. Max temp 20.1 Stop Press: As I type this at 1620z thunder is banging away from a Cb to the south. -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. |
