Default Prams, Toys Etc.. Is That It ?

Apologies Stephen - it didn't seem that heavy, I guess. What ever it was

it was welcome - although paying for it now with 100% humidity and 19C ,

Phew!

Lord, don't apologise! I'm just a horrible pedant.

The humidity was quite something. And here's a slightly interesting thing - when the rain was teeming warmly here in north Kent there was, or so it seemed, a whiff of the ocean. It was almost like being in Bali for a minute, if I hadn't been running past Morrisons.

Yellow warning is the *lowest* level, and thus appropriate for yesterday. As were orange warnings farther north.

You all might be interested in these (Facebook posts from MeteoGroup/WeatherCast).

If the potential is there for some nastiness then I feel they are

worthy in issuing a yellow. Bear in mind that the yellow is merely "Be

aware". You were aware. So I'm guessing it worked!!

And it was quite heavy. I wouldn't like to have been out driving or

walking in it, lucky it was so late arriving. 10mm in our raingauge this

morning, which is not negligible for here, after all.

PS nospam means nospam. But umra at cockaigne dot org dot uk will get

through!

I drove to Sainsbury's Penge as did the normal amount of traffic with

the only difference being most drivers sensibly used their lights as it

was so dark. Otherwise pretty much a normal early Saturday evening.

Blackheath of course is very different as you all have very powerful

expensive cars.

And of course it's wild hilly country.

Perhaps I don't live in the posh bit. Part-time nannies and a couple of
stay-at-home mums in this road. And only one rather old Range-Rover.

Most interesting. I think one of the things that fooled us was that
wasn't an obvious difference in intesity visible by looking at the radar
as it moved through whereas the reality was possibly 10x more further north.

'twas not always thus Lawrence. My old nanny (a related one) used to
take me to King George's ? pond on the Heath to sail me little model boat.

Same sort of thing with Camberwell Grove. Initially a Tudor Mansion, then for the 18th/197t century London wealthy, Once the trains arrived they scarpered to avoid the rif raf in all those properties that followed the rail tracks. When I were kid in sixties Camberwell Grove were full of working class people renting rooms -not flats. Nowadays the old working class streets of off Camberwell Grove I were raised on, have now gone to be replaced social housing non working class estates.

Anyhow the programme has been removed now but here's a taster for those interested.
