Prolonged sunshine in Penzance yesterday, virtually unbroken from
09:00 until sunset. With the lightest of offshore winds and very good visibility the temperature reached 18.3C. No surf, http://www.sennen-cove.com/todaysurf.htm (what a contrast to last Thurs/Fri, but some near glassy swimming conditions off the battery rocks in Penzance. The only other area of the England/Wales to get similar conditions seems to have been the tip of Pembroke. The immediate coast of west Cornwall often gets some of the best summer weather under slackish low pressure, and yesterday was is a good example. Also you get such sparkling light & deep colours in low pressure sunshine. (I've posted a couple of pics on the COL Forum) Sunny 1st thing today, but cloud steadily developing now, so no repeat of yesterday.. Only 0.7mm of rain here in the last 4 days, and no day this month has failed to reach 15C, so nothing exceptionally cool here.. Graham Penzance |

We've not had 10 hours in 12 days!! Dull again today, this is really turning out to be a SAD June, just 8.5 hours here in 12 days, December or January couldn't do any worse! Roll on Autumn ![]() Graham (North Staffs) |
