Default Rainfall ... West Moors/E.Dorset

.... following-on from the comments rainfall (or lack of it) a
couple of days ago for this county, we've now had two days with short,
sharp downpours, and over the 48 hours we've had a total of 32 mm of
rain. However, this only brings the month's total to 38 mm,
representing around two-fifths of the 1981-2010 eLTA.

23mm here at Hilton, Martin. I noted how these showers were running
along a line so you must have had a continous feed.

..... indeed Robin, though as I commented in the thread Thorney
Island, fortunately we had breaks in the train of notably vigorous
convective cells. Often in those situations the TCu/CB etc., is
obscured by lower cloud, but yesterday the individual cells could be
seen advancing 'up the line' quite clearly - good enough for me to
dash out to the shops without getting wet!

Well done Martin, there isn't a more sorry site than that of a Met man
getting soaked in an unexpected downpour :-)
