Excellent here. Long sunny spells. 16C. Fresh north wind. Sparkling visibility. Dartmoor gives us some shelter in such conditions. Kelvin-helmholtz waves across the top of Cumulus, and some lenticular for good measure. Lovely! Len Wood Wembury, SW Devon |

Most of today has been spent wobbling about between 5 and 9C, with a brisk NNE'ly giving windchills down to -10C. Intermittent rain showers the chill and brisk wind prevented much outside work but did take a trailer full of rubbish to the dump. When I got back about 1530 and was unhitching it some of the rain was rather white and hard... Not sleet or hail just little bits of very wet ice. -- Cheers Dave. Nr Garrigill, Cumbria. 421m ASL. |

Common sense prevailed for the dog's sojourn this afternoon. Or so I thought. Sweatshirt over t-shirt, all covered by a body warmer. Damn it, I wish I'd put on a jacket as well. The brisk northerly got through everything. Lesson learnt, and jacket goes on tomorrow. jim, Northampton |

After a cool start, we've had a spectaculary gorgeous Autumn day. 15C, but warm enough to lie in the sun, out of the wind and we've been in the garden all day. Back to just a T-shirt on the dog walks this afternoon. 3-fleece and a woolly hat weather is on it's way at some stage, unfortunately, but it's well worthwhile enjoying this clear air and warmth of late September. |
