Default Non-polar polar lows?

With very low temps over parts of scandinavia and NE winds developing
bringing the cold air over the north see is it possible to get polar
lows not of a polar origin developing bringing a risk of significant
snow to eastern areas of the uk? Even without them I guess the showers
could come well inland and give supprising amounts to some eastern
areas. Still some snow / ice on the ground in yorkshire even on low
ground and after rainfall.
