The current Peak District forecast on the Met Office website is going for heavy
rain on Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat yet the Peak District isn't included in the raft of early warnings that were issued this morning. Looks like we're expected to be right on the edge of the worst of it. We shall see:-) I wouldn't like the task of predicting how much rain we might get in this situation but orographic enhancement does often push the totals up here. The land is pretty wet at the moment but not waterlogged yet. The farmers are still getting onto the fields and the animals are still out grazing. Much more heavy rain will waterlog the land and will result in a lot of runoff into the rivers. Looks like an indoors week after today :-( -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. |
