More and more now I'm getting "runtime error do you wish to debug" messages.
They are getting irritating. I guess it might be because I'm still using IE6??? Would upgrading to IE7 help? Firefox is OK on Windows XP. Will -- |

Would upgrading to IE7 help? Firefox is OK on Windows XP. It's hard to say whether upgrading to IE7 might help without more information. Are there any particular pages or features that you have identified as causing the error? The wording of the error message suggests that it might be caused by a page using Javascript that contains an error, in which case the problem would be at their end rather than yours. There may be an IE6 configuration option to stop it asking that question, though. Look under Tools Internet options for things relating to Javascript. -- John Hall "If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts; but if he will be content to begin with doubts, he shall end in certainties." It is javascript almost certainly. Wetterzentrale is an example culprit. Will -- |

Firefox is OK on Windows XP. Will -- You can disable the error: 1. Within Internet Explorer select 'Tools', 'Internet Options'. 2. Select the 'Advanced' tab. 3. Cick the option 'Disable script debugging' (under 'Browsing'). 4. For the setting change to take effect close down all Internet Explorer windows and restart. If you're a JavaScript developer (or webmaster) then it's probably wise to leave script debugging enabled. -- Am I the only Gareth Slee? http://www.garethslee.com |

Cheers Gareth. Not had the time yet to really get into Javascript, so I will disable the debugging. Many thanks, you and John have been most helpful. Will -- |

Once you've tried proper tabbed browsing you'll never look back ![]() At work I'm FORCED to use IE6 as they're paranoid about making sure any software works properly before they update !!! The other thing you may need to do is update all sorts of programs... The EASIEST way to do this is to go to www.filehippo.com and from the top right of their front page download and install their Update Checker. When installed run it and click on the settings and tick to not show the Beta versions and tick to not show the paths... You may be very surprised at what needs updating... Nick |
