Just as a followup, gliding on sunday at Darlton (N Notts) and everyone
commented on how pronounced the inversion was (in terms of the atmospheric conditions - can't comment on the actual temps) so I don't know if that was a factor in the sunset that followed ucsdcpc wrote: here's some photos my son took - sunset today (18th), yesterday and a couple on the 10th http://www.flickr.com/photos/gadders/tags/sunset/ all in Nottingham or just north Chris Trevor wrote: wrote in message ... ![]() "Trevor" wrote in message . com... Any one else notice the very unusual colouring of the whole sky at dusk the evening? Trevor Kirkburn East Yorkshire Pretty odd down here in Stamford too - I managed to get a picture before it faded to a dark red. Check the weather page on my site (www.puffle.co.uk) and scroll to the bottom. Beautiful tones of orange and purple. |

Beautiful tones of orange and purple. And up here in NE England - some eerie skies at dusk and dawn. According to weatherman on local TV it's due to ice crystals high in the atmosphere diffusing the light? Jeff |
