Apart from few showers in the weak ahead, Can anyone see any signs of
substantial rainfall on the horizon ?

It has been raining for so long here that I would settle for seeing any sign of
a horizon!

Q: What do you call a rain free day in Peterhead?
A: Summer!

I think the relatively High pressure down here ( I am in the SW) is
going to keep the South more or less dry for a good while yet. I have
a large garden to plant out so i intend waiting for a while before
thinking of doing so( though some climbers can go in now as I give
them a feeding tube whatever).

Hmm I think things are forecast to go further downhill in the S&E than was
expected at the time you wrote this.
Seems they dunno what is goin on if you look at this issued today 18th Sept
Wetterkarte for the days ahead
http://85.214.49.20/pics/avnpanel1.html
then you look at the BBC pressure charts for the days ahead towards Saturday
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/coast/pressure/
and quite honestly they both offer completely opposing ideas.

I'm Nr Peterborough and each time atlantic low appears any front that
comes withit fizzles out before it gets here. Influence of High off SW
England will dominate for days/weeks?
