writes Hi Mike, actually summer can be a very difficult season. In winter if you get zonality then it will generally be wet and mild but in sumer zonality can give southern areas a hot and dry summer. Summer blocks can also be very wet if low pressure dominates. At the end of last winter I did expect a cold and wet Spring mainly due to the fact that we were well and truly blocked to the NW with a jet well south and I couldn't see anything shifting that. In the end the jet weakened allowing the blocking high to migrate SE'wards into the UK. Although summer hasn't happened yet it kind of followed on from Spring forecast though I didn't make too much of it IIRC. Will Hi Will Despite your 'strange' fascination with the cold ;-)) Your weather view is THE opinion to take seriously, so far as I'm concerned. My, old fart, arthritis really hopes your revised opinion of the forthcoming summer is correct. So far here in the Isle of Man, after an unusually cold and snowy winter, it's been a lovely dry and sunny spring, even warm on the odd day or two. Fingers crossed for a continuation into summer. Best regards -- Jim |
