.... 1055Z (1155 BST) If anyone is trying to gauge the eastern edge of
the rain-mass across the SW, it's just reached us here (few droplets
only): looks as if it is sliding SSE and weakening now: dark, lowering
cloud to the SW, but definite cloud edge to distant east, the other
side of the Ringwood / the Avon.

It started to rain here just below Bulbarrow Hill (Dorset) at 1030- it
is slight to moderate now, but as you say, sliding south east. I
thought we would get away with it - just- here and in a sense the
amounts are not stopping things like dog walking. Very marked colours
on the radar.
As usual these days, a 'severe' weather warning out (warning people
that there may be puddles I assume). I ought to keep a record of these
for this part of the world........

.... (1145Z): no more rain for at least 10 mins, and what we had was
'odd drops' anyway.

A few drops of rain at Hurn, just enough to dampen the ground briefly. but
not enough to tip the bucket on the rainguage. On playing back the radar on
Netweather, it's amazing how close the rain got and stayed so close for
several hours.
Back home in Bournemouth I recorded 1mm of rain. Wind suddenly got up an
hour or so ago, now gusting 25mpg.

Jim, Bournemouth
