Default London Tornado/Torro chap/Radio Scotland

The Main chap at Torro has just been interviewed on Radio Scotland
Newsdrive. He stated that it was a decent tornado and that it would have
caused a lot more damage had the houses been made from the same material
as they tend to be in the USA. He quashed the Mini Tornado usage and in
general laid to rest a few media tornado ghosts- you can listen again on
the bbc radio player.

Having emailed the show 45 minutes earlier about their reckless use of
the word "Mini" and "freak" and pushing them to the Torro site I am
claiming it as a coup. ;o)

Just emailed Radio 4's PM about the same thing. They dropped it in the last
mention. Perhaps they've had many! I cut and pasted this groups mention of
the "m" word from the faq.

Freak Mini - Tornado!! AAAAARGHH!!

The ITV news wasn't too bad I suppose having had Terence Meaden in and
mentioning that it was a T4. Even though umpteen folk mentioned in
various news broadcasts throughout the afternoon that the UK gets
between 30 and 40 a year and that the UK is one of the most tornado
prone places on the planet they still had to get the 'things are getting
worse' climate change oar in on both the BBC and ITV.

Perhaps Gordon Brown should draw up a new 'twister tax' of say 5% for T0
events up to 55% for a T10 that'll fix it :/

I was listening to this on Radio 4 this evening whilst negotiating the M3.
Cue me talking to the car radio along the lines of "stupid journo! if a
hundred homes are damaged and trees uprooted it's hardly a bloody mini
tornado you moron!" I don't think the journo would actually have heard me
castigating him via the car radio, but it made me feel better ;-)
