Heads I win tails you lose!! You alarmists keep harping on the same apocalyptic scenario irrespective!! ROTFLMAO A couple of scientists looked at a couple of data points, kept in mind the orbital forcing issues and essentially said "it might be worth looking into the possibility that we are entering a new ice age ..." In 1970, the possibility of an ice age was simply a working by a copuple of scientists that was given wide media circulation but for which the evidence was still inconclusive. No corroroborating evidence was ever found. Moreover, the handful who thought the hypothesis worth exploring did not assert that the causes of cooling were anthropogenic and so far as they did imply that some policies should be followed, they were adaptive rather than prophylactic in character. They were proposing *more research*. Not only was the proposal reasonable, but had it been followed, we might have got a head start on taking the issue of climate seriously. And just for the record, in the 1970s, of the papers published on the matter the overwhelming majority predicted global warming over a new ice age. Of course, the GPC [global polluters cartel] spruikers have blown a proposal for research by a handful of scientists into a world wide scientific consensus. They simply have no regard for honesty.
