Never used standard meteorological radiosondes manufactured by VIZ
which is now Sippican, measures humidity, temperature, and barometric pressure. These radiosondes have two transmitters. They use Loran C to fix position and vector, and another transmitter at 403 Hz to transmit humidity, temperature, and barometric pressure data. Come complete with batteries, hygristors, and wire antennas for both transmitters. The radiosondes would typically be flown on 600 to 1000 gram rubber or latex balloons. We might be able to come up with an instruction sheet. NASA surplus, left over from a project. According to the Disposal Sheet, the original cost of each instrument was $300. US$1,000 for all 40 pieces, plus shipping. Delivery available to North Caronlina, Virgina, West Virgina, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC for US$0.50 per loaded mile from zip code 23302. Please email with any questions. |
