What a depressing day it's been here in Southend-on-Sea today, grey,
dull and gloomy all day with occassional drizzle. Monday tomorrow, I
wonder what weather that will bring!

Well then you'll be pleased to know it's been lovely up in Cumbria. Blue
skies nearly all day, and 20 C. Hope you're all enjoying your miserable
weather. :-)

Wonderful day up here, warm (just under 20C), no wind to speak off and
I really mean no wind not just a unnoticable F3. Bright sunshine
though the cloud has built a little bit in the last few hours. No
doubt in time to have 8/8ths by the time it is dark and the aurora
possibly active.

Hi, Dave,

Yes, it's been a great day, as you say. 10 hours sun, high 18C and low wind
speed. It's looking clear atm, so you might be lucky. I haven't had an
aurora alert, mind.

Best wishes

Yes, my cricket match was called off at Burnham-on- Crouch and even I got an
unexpected heavy shower - but all well worth while if we win the Ashes -
especially as the Australians have conveniently forgotten they fortunately
drew the third Test due to rain!

Equally depressing here too. Had to make a run for cover during a shower
at Reculver (we'd been to try to get up the tower there but the queue
was an hour long!). Lucky there was a pub nearby

Very dark skies and drizzle on and off since then - reminds me of the
kind of weather I get when I visit the Lake District in January!

Miserable in mid-Norfolk too. Grey, cold (relative to recent temps),
rain/drizzle, gusty wind. I was on a cycle ride this morning, and it felt
like a winter cycle ride, not a late summer/early autumn one. BAH!

Ah - but it was a near-perfect day on the golf course. So much more
pleasant than the recent heat and humidity. One man's meat
...............Etc.

Overcast rather than dull in Southampton, but still - and contrary to
many people's experiences it would seem - easily the worst day of the
last 3.
