writes Interesting about 12-13 May 1995. I don't personally remember any serious frosts at that time but I will check my records when I get them unpacked. It does encourage me that the summer of 1995 turned out to be the hottest I have recorded; hopefully history could repeat itself.......we'll see! Not too far away from you Nick, e just had a slight grass frost last night. Just for the record, here are the coldest nights during May in Coventry since 1892: ..-5.0C 1938 -3.5C 1979 -3.2C 1941 -3.0C 1935 -2.8C 1942 -- Steve Jackson Bablake Weather Station Coventry UK http://www.netlink.co.uk/users/bws |

Felly sgrifennodd Nick G :
Chilly night here in Worcester, one of the coldest May nights on record (since 1989) with 1.2C at 05:53 am. Beat you. -0.7 (yes that's a minus), at 4:47 am. That's very surprising for us, as we tend to miss a lot of frosts. The cold air rolls down into the valley below. I notice that the Trawsgoed weather station data, which is down the valley 5 miles or so, bears this out: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/...trawsgoed.html Adrian (12 miles ESE Aberystwyth, 860 ft/260 m asl) -- Adrian Shaw ais@ Adran Cyfrifiadureg, Prifysgol Cymru, aber.
