Something which everyone on this planet should be able to do. ================================================== ================== Never had this problem before, so unsure what to do. My sheathed maximum thermometer will not stay at the maximum temperature, it now behaves like an ordinary thermometer. Can anyone help before I bite the bullet and order a new one ? Ironically I lent my spare to a friend yesterday ! Is it at such an angle to the horizontal that gravity is helping it return down the capillary tube? -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 29/11/2004 18:49:47 UTC |

A bowl of hot water normally does the trick for me, for bubbles and other such things, but I don't think mine has ever not stuck at the Max temp, perhaps there is a small crack somewhere allowing in some air ? The Met Office have always been very quick to replace my damage ones, normally arriving with 48hrs. I decided to stand on my Grass Min therm last month - not recommended Paul Crabtree Brampton N.E.
