Default Brussels: sunny start but dull afternoon

Brussels on Monday 15 November

Sunny at first but cloud moved in quickly mid-morning. Cloudy by midday
and in the afternoon the familiar Brussels gloom took over ... Quite
cold - WSW wind felt distinctly chilly as I walked home this evening.

Brussels Uccle 6.9°C - overnight minimum 1.2°C.
Brussels Airport overnight minimum 1.3°C.

Funny you should mention it- just as I remember when the in laws lived
(70s) in a suburb on the north side. We used to get a tram in - letter
G or G with a red cross across it IIRC - and, boy, the city did look
grey!
Now we just have a cousin living not far from Namur and when we went
across for Christmas a few years ago I do not recall seeing the sun
for four days. I was quite pleased to get back to the UK..

Jette ? http://www.tbx.be/webcams.html

Tram G from Brussels to Grimbergen and back ran for the last time on 31st
July 1978. The "red cross" would actually have been a diagonal red line
indicating that the tram was not running the full length of its route.

I am in Woluwe St Pierre in the SE of Brussels and the Belgian Royal
Meteorological Institute with its weather station is at Uccle in the south -
see map above.

Beauval (sp?). The tram line was certainly taken up when I was last
the I was a bit disappointed. When I was a young chappie I took one
tram in to the centre ( G diagonal I think) and it went through a road
with a lot of madams sitting in the window. I was told to look the
other way. I have not forgotten that - 30 years ago.
I have occasionally looked at a radar site that covers most of
Belgium.

Not sure where that might be. I can't find Beauval or any similar name in
that area on the map. Bever possibly ? There is a proposal to reconstruct
something like the old tram G route to ease traffic congestion.

They are still there - or more exactly their successors are. I don't know
that part of the city very well ...
