previously this week (~65% at 1pm). Layer of alto/cirro stratus thickening.
And warm southerly F4. Previous days this week had an easterly component
which I think held back the temperatures at this site.

Temperature looks to have peaked here. Maximum was 29.3°C
Wet bulb currently 22.8°C (dew point 19.5°C), this is a record for my site.

Just recorded 100.3 F in my Stephensons screen , although its a none
standard situation. ie . too close to buildings. but not by more than a few
yards.

Down the road in Sheffield we only managed 29.6C @ 4.15pm, the highest this
year though.

The 100.3 he quoted is 37.94 degrees Celsius which would (if official)
make it a UK National record. However...

The highest of the half-hourly METAR temperatures at Leeds-Bradford
airport today (NW Leeds, 200m asl) is 28 degrees Celsius. Paul may
have a rather big "problem" with his screen, exposure or
instrumentation!

That assumes it's his subject line (seems to have been modified from
"Motherwell" to "north Leeds" in response to Alex Stephens' message
earlier this afternoon).
