Hi Gavin,

I think at the moment it's looking cold but the problem will be moisture,
there just ain't enough going around :-(

Next Tuesday looks interesting as the front progresses Southwards but too
far ahead to put any detail on this really, next Friday however could be the
"one to watch".

Cheers

A

Hydro Electric put this warning out..........

"WEATHER SCHEDULED TO TURN WINTRY OVER THE WEEKEND - BUT WITH NO SIGNIFICANT
SYSTEM HAZARDS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP UNTIL NEXT WEEK - TUESDAY.

West is set to stay mostly dry and bright on Sunday, wintry showers in the
far North will push slowly southwards. Showers will start off as sleet at
low levels with snow on high ground but will increasingly turn to snow at
all levels. Some prolonged spells of snow are likely in the North and
Northeast during the afternoon and evening. A strong North-westerly wind.
Another cold night with a widespread frost.

Milder respite on Monday.

However the advance forecast for Tuesday has high confidence of gale force
northerly winds bringing a wintry blast. Showers will give snow and
blizzard conditions on hills in the North, (only 90mph gusts at highest
levels currently forecast,), and rain at low levels will gradually turn
to snow. Showers will push well inland. Overnight, snow showers will
continue to affect the North and East. Line icing could be an issue below
100m (expected to be too cold above this level).

AFFECTED REGIONS NORTHERN ISLES, FAR NORTH OF HIGHLAND AND THE NORTH EAST
COASTAL AREAS."
