I managed a little better with a temperature of 8.0C at 1pm but that still is the coldest maximum I have recorded since 1988 (I think), still consulting the records!

2.3 mm of welcome rain to damp down the dust......

In Coventry, we managed 7.8C by the end of the day - the coldest October
day since 1992 (7.0C).

It will feel warmer in the sun today but still only 9C!
