[OBS] Niton, Isle of Wight - Wed 5th May 2021
1500Z: 30009KT 20KM Recent hail shower 1CU018 2CB028 (2SC060) (2AC100)
6CICS220 8.0/5.5 QFF 1011.3 steady SYNOP: 41470 73009 10080 20055 40113 50000 72782 83968 333 81818 82928 86072 90710 91127 99020= Beaufort letters (1400-1500Z): cpho,cjp,cphr,cpro,cjp Sunny until 0930Z then sunny intervals and showers. Slight rain shower 1000-1010Z, slight hail shower 1358-1405Z and a moderate shower of rain and hail 1430-1457Z. The afternoon showers both contained opaque hailstones of 3-5mm diameter. Low Cu in the wake of the CB/shower and there's a partial halo visible in the CiCs layer. Excellent visibility but dropping to moderate (5000m) during the last shower. Wind W'ly F3-4 but gusty F5 in the showers. The wind has now swung round towards the NW. RH 84%. Max temp so far today 11.5 Nigel (Niton, Isle of Wight) 101m amsl |
