Shame there are no official stations on the south Cornwall coast. The only low level coastal station now is Bude, and that's on the north coast, so often very different to Falmouth or Penzance. Newquay is actually St Mawgan airfied, about 300' & as windy and exposed as you can get. Appreciate you'd prefer an official station, but presumably you are aware of the NCI stations like: https://www.nci.org.uk/stations/weat...nzance-station Don't know how good its exposure is but the NCI stations are usually pretty good - certainly the St Ives one is. Same data in a different format also available on weatherlink.com at: https://www.weatherlink.com/map/53da...9-d832eadcc365 Think that link should work, but best to have a (free) account at weatherlink.com and check the map for nearby stations. |

Yes, I'm aware of those thanks. Also there's John Chappell's Lands End site https://www.landsendweather.info/ Bosullow between Penzance & Pendeen https://www.greatbosullow.net/ My issue really is that there are so few official stations these days that the warmest / coldest / wettest places lists are pretty meaningless. In Cornwall Bude keeps coming out near the top because it no longer has any competition! You also get the ridiculous situation where Camborne is given as recent weather in Penzance on the MetO site, when they are on opposite coasts & there are times in Spring when there can be close to 10C difference in the maximum temperature, if the onshore coast is plagued by mist or low cloud. I was a bit involved in trying to get the Penzance station restarted. It was a lost cause, the goal posts kept moving. The Cornishman followed the depressing story. It was sadly closed just after I pointed out that the reported minimum temperatures were far too low. I got a nice, thorough reply explaining the problem. I expected the equipment to be replaced, but the cheaper option was chosen . . Graham Penzance |

On the weatherlink.com map I can also see in the immediate area: one behind Mousehole; Marazion; Canon's Town; and Townshend. (Before moving round to Mullion etc) |
