Tideswell, Derbyshire - Sunday 7th February 2021
---------------------------------------------------------------------

0630z 06010g29kt 10km -SN 3St006 8Sc015 1011
RMK: Mod/hvy snow yesterday evening 1800z-2000z. Snow
showers after that. The snow settled on all surfaces but when it
eased off, with the temp above 0C, there was a slow thaw and
hard surfaces became slushy. The slow thaw continued for most
of the night and the temp didn't fall below 0C until 0515z.
There's 5 cm lying snow but hard surfaces are mostly wet or
slushy. The slush hasn't frozen yet. There's a bitter wind.

0900z: 06010g24kt 4000 -SN -SG 4St007 8Sc015 -00.9/-02.4 1011
RMK: Snow ceased around 0700z and there were a few breaks
in the cloud for a while. Overcast again after 0800z and there's
been slight snow and snow grains since about 0840z.
5 cm lying snow and all the slush has now frozen. The snow
and snow grains now falling is producing a dusting on newly-
frozen hard surfaces. It's genuinely bitter out there.
09-09z: Tx 4.3 (1152z) Tn -0.9 (0850z) RR 9.8
15-09z: Tg 0.0 (0728z under snow) 00-24z: Sun nil

RMK: A cloudy day with very slight snow for much of the
time, but never enough to produce new accumulation.
5 cm lying snow. Despite the air temp remaining below
0C all day there's been considerable melting of snow
and ice on untreated hard surfaces. I should think that
the reason is that those surfaces have retained some
heat from the relatively milder weather of the past few
days. Max temp since 0900z is -0.4C and there's been no
sunshine.
