There have been some classic discrepancies between the words & the computer output recently.
So if you have a quick look at the Penzance forecast for Tues/Weds The words for SW England:- Unsettled conditions on Tuesday with showers and sunny spells. Similar on Wednesday with further showers possible and stronger winds. So the main difference is Weds is windier. (Looking at the forecast synoptic chart, it's hard to see where the 'stronger' winds comes from.) Meanwhile the supercomputer Strongest winds during daylight hours Tues 27mph - gusts 41mph Weds 19mph - gusts 29mph Both at noon Which is a marked decrease. Rain risk Tues 30-40% in the morning, 10-30% in the afternoon. Weds 10% all day. So Wednesday looks the far better day. Still it's nice to get the choice. For what it's worth the computer's normally much nearer the mark here. Hate to give the MetO the excuse to get rid of even more humans though. Weather's taken a turn for the worse today. Windier & cloudy this morning, odd spit the the wind, after yesterdays sunshine. Graham Penzance |
